Aim of the Project
To raise awareness of Modern Apprenticeships within BAME communities in Renfrewshire and support in accessing opportunities by upskilling employability skills.
Purpose of the Project
The project aims to raise awareness to Minority Ethnic Communities in Renfrewshire about different types of apprenticeships, qualifications and employment opportunities available.
Provide increased opportunities for Minority Ethnic communities in Renfrewshire to work in a real-world of work while learning, gaining the skill required by employers by partnering with modern apprenticeship employers.
Provide more opportunities for BAME communities in Renfrewshire to gain employability qualifications accredited by Scottish Qualifications Authority including Duke of Edinburgh & Saltire Awards thereby increasing their chances of employability by providing an employability course.
To provide an opportunity for dialogue between BAME communities and would-be employers.
Anticipated Outcomes

Increased knowledge of apprenticeships among BAME groups including parents

Provided platform for BAME population to acquire new skills.

Provide more engagement opportunities for BAME communities to access paid work experience and training, volunteering as well as a clear career pathway, in the industry of their choice.

More opportunities for parents to have access to information that will help them to support their children to make better career decisions.

More opportunities for employers to interact with BAME communities to understand barriers to accessing modern apprentices and formulate interventions.
