Women Included Connected & Empowered
Our experience of service delivery at a local level in Renfrewshire indicates that regular activities are needed to reduce barriers to engagement with regards a number of health and wellbeing areas by increasing access to mainstream service provision. In many such activities women, particularly from the minority ethnic communities are the last to access opportunities to take part in such enabling activities. The project aims to help the women taking part to identify and tackle barriers to engagement through increased engagement in a culturally sensitive environment.
The key objectives of the project are:
Minority ethnic women in and around Ferguslie have increased opportunities for community engagement and activities.
They have a safe and informal environment to commune that fosters trust and understanding with others.
They have access to activities, information and are aware of mainstream services available to them.
